 So, day four. Half of our team went out to volunteer and the other half stayed back because of lack of seats in the cars.

Day 2!

 Note: I only have the pictures that I took, which did not start until we landed. Later, when I get other team members' pictures, I'll have an overall trip summary with supplementary (And I would argue, better, pictures). Usually I hope these posts will be more picture-oriented rather than text.

Day 1

We’re on our way! The beginning of the trip has been fairly uneventful. Arrived at LAX at 9:30 and then checked our bags before going through security. The flight was at 11:30 and they started boarding at 11. I don’t remember much of the takeoff because for the first 1 ½ hours, myself and another team member, Priscilla were speaking to a Japanese woman named Hitomi. Priscilla was the one that initiated the conversation but when it became clear that Hitomi was having some trouble with English, I moved over down the row, which was empty of other people other than myself and her, and began to translate.

After landing, we met up with the rest of the team bringing our total number to 14. Getting through customs and immigration was quite smooth and quick; telling people that we were going to Sendai in order to volunteer opened them and made them quite grateful. While at the airport we decided to go to a Starbucks and were stopped by the police on a checkup. After finding out that we were volunteers, even while they were taking down our information, the police continued to thank us for coming to Japan.

There was a local that we know from our sister church in Narashino who met up with us and took our luggage while we traveled by train to Narashino. On the train, we spoke to several people about volunteer work and also preached the gospel. There were about 10-12 who prayed with us to receive the Lord.

 Well, since I'm going to be going to Sendai, Japan for a volunteer/gospel preaching trip hosted by my school, I figured that I might as well blog about it. I will have a personal diary that I will already be keeping but in the interest of keeping people informed as well as for those who might be wondering what exactly the situation on the ground there is like right now, I'll be posting in through several mediums. One is through email reports to my schoolmates and family. The other is through twitter, for more at-the-moment kinds of things. The third will be this. I'm sure eventually there will be a massive picture post but I hope to be able to upload and include pictures into these posts on a daily basis. We'll see what happens.

Yay. I'm tired. Now...to prep up for graduation. I'm not graduating this semester (one more to go) but wow there's a lot of grad cards to write and gifts to wrap. Hrm. =/ I'll miss all the 4th termers when they leave.

Gotta write a lot of letters as well. CoB is first up. Then probably Jemz. I still have this gift I've literally had on my desk for about 6 months =.=

After that? Mmm...probably those letters I planned about 3 months back for Kenia and then the letter to Tiff. Then Barron, Allison and David. Those last three are more cards than letters. Wrote a whole song for them. That should have been good enough haha...

PWI. I was looking at the work and realized that I had started section 60-69 update almost exactly 2 months ago. So sad. At any rate, I worked on it for most of today and got it done and released. I think I've got a good system down now with some, randomly, Notepad ++ loving action. Next up the challenge is 70-79 though I'm not sure about investigating FF. Then, rework on 80-89 but I can't get all of the info until I go on true winter break which is when I get home. My ticket home is on the 4th. Yay.

Very much looking forward to Bellevue. I miss the food joints around there; Anaheim has nothing but Mexican food :(

Need to finish everything before I have to leave. This to-do list is getting longer by the day @_@

3 tests left. My brain feels melted. Just tell myself I'm almost done. Then next week is fun week and the week after, graduation comes for my cousin and my family comes down D:

Can't wait.

Wow. Between twitter, busy-ness and just plain having no time other than to quickly read other peoples' LJ's, I've completely forgotten to post to my own.

As if anyone reads it -.- I just use my account to comment on other people >:O

Oh well. At any rate, back to back to back to back to back finals are no fun. 2 on Tues. 1 on Wed. 2 on Thurs. 1 on Fri. 1 on Sat. Yay. Hopefully it won't destroy me and I can make it back to Washington in one piece D:

Noted: My flight is January 4th. Grrr...stupid airlines. Not to mention my grandma is pissed because I will miss New Years with her.

And, I'm going to Virginia in February. Yay \o/

That's all the randomness going on in my life atm. Next post: 2 years from now.
